Accelerating innovation
for long-term impact
The Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative’s UAE Water Challenges program consists of a series of prize competitions focused on accelerating the development of technological breakthroughs for a water-secure future. The Challenges aim to support the development and testing of practical solutions that can be applied in the UAE and have the potential to be scaled-up and deployed in other water-stressed countries.
New Challenges will be launched on a regular basis with an estimated duration of 18 to 24 months. Each Challenge will focus on a different theme (e.g. Water for Agriculture). Challenges are open to participants from a wide range of sectors including academia, non-profit, start-ups, private sector businesses of all sizes, or a combination of the above. Proposed technology solutions should be ready to be piloted in the UAE during the Challenge period and subsequently deployed to the relevant sector within the UAE .
